How to make dried orange slices?
Let’s make dried orange slices and lemon chips, and you won’t believe how delicious and healthy they are. Any citrus fruit can be dehydrated and used for food and decoration.

We need oranges, lemons, and 200 grams of sugar for making chips. Wash oranges and lemons thoroughly. Cut the oranges into relatively thin slices, 3-4 mm thick. If you are confident in the juiciness and sweetness of your oranges, or if you like to feel sourness, then you no add sugar when drying. In cases of using dried orange slices as a decoration, skip the sugar addition step, blot the orange wedges with a paper towel before dehydration.

- Second option
Sprinkle dried orange slices and lemon slices with powdered sugar before cooking and immediately send to the dehydrator.

Line a baking sheet with parchment or use a silicone dehydrator mat, lay the orange in one layer, and the lemon. The meshes are not too large; the food does not fall through, allowing me not to use parchment.

The preparation of dried orange slices and lemon steps is the same as drying in a dehydrator. Put prepared citruses in one layer on a wire rack or baking sheet lined with parchment and send to the oven.
Bake at 176 °F (80 °C) in convection mode for 3-4 hours, depending on the size. Turn fruit every 30 minutes. Once cooled completely, the chips will become even crisper.

Considering the peculiarities of your oven, you may have to decrease or increase the temperature regime. Here, for comparison, with the left, cooking at 176 °F (80 °C), with the right at 212 °F (100 °C).
How to store?
Store ready-made dried orange slices and lemon in a container with a tight lid in a dry, dark place at room temperature for up to 6 months.

Instructions
Dehydrator
- Cut the oranges and lemon into relatively thin slices, 3-4 mm thick.

- Leave to soak for 30 minutes.
- Place on dehydrator trays in one layer.
- Set the temperature to 145 °F (ca. 63 °C), set the time to 5 hours, then check and add up to 5 hours more (depending on your dryer). Leave to cool completely.
